Pop up card made with Poppy's

Poppy pop up card

Hi all you lovely crafty people out there...how you all doing....well I hope.....
well today's card is a beautiful poppy card.......It all came about after talking to my Mum on Friday.......plus what with up and coming Remembrance Sunday (UK)...which I hold very close to my heart just couldn't let it go by... Especially as I have a free poppy stamp set and die to play with from Sheena Douglas......But of course I used Stampin up inks....... So this lovely card is all about Techniques used in making the poppies and the back ground...as you all might know by now I love try to make the most out of my stamps. Have you got any poppy stamps set in your crafty stash?...why don't you get them out and have a play you never know what you could make, just take a look at this card.

So I'm sure you all know by now how to make a pop up card......
Measurements as follows
real red card stock 8in x5in
Scored short side at 2in,4in,6in,8in, turned to long side scored at 21/2in
then cut up every  score line of your top half ,the little 1/2 that's left cut away your top bit ,bottom 1/2in you will glue together to make the card.
cut 2 strips 3ins x 1/2 score at each end and put sticky strip ,
pop them in your card..these will be what your attaching your Poppy's to.
As you all know I love making my own back ground paper and I had great fun doing so...I just think its wonderful when all you need is whisper white card stock great ink..I used real red and strawberry slush with basic black for the middle.....
On stamping out the poppy's in real red I came back in with my water brush and picked up the ink and painted over the poppy's...( I used whisper white card stock and not water card but  it was all ok).....I used  strawberry slush to give depth to my poppy... not forgetting to stamp the middle part of the poppy in basic black ..... now to die cut the poppy out...then to layer it them up......
loved getting messy ......with the leaves using mossy meadow  I put a colour wash over the card, let it dry then came back in and stamped over, if you have a look at the leaves you will see....... i cut all the leaves out by hand......using acetate in small strips to stick to the poppy's, then sticking them on the inside of the 1/2in strips you will get this great effect.. ..Of course using my background paper to decorate the sides and the long panel at the back, think it looks great..what do you think...
I know this is all long blog....but just wanted to let you all know how it all came about , you just might want to have ago yourself with any stamp you may have...I love to share with you all out there.
If you pop along to my you tube channel you can see me making them all in detail.
Thank you for stopping by and if you have got to the bottom of this blog and understand you GREAT............
Happy crafting to you all
